About the stone

GRANITE MATERIALS

We appreciate natural stone for its durability and beautiful appearance. Stone is an eternal material. This is proven by numerous buildings from the past that have been preserved thanks to him.

The ancient Egyptians used it to build obelisks. Most of these buildings are made of solid stone which is rarely used today.

Today, cut slabs are more commonly used, which are processed by polishing, sandblasting, flamed, antiqued, honed, rough, brush hammered, brushed, …

Today's use of stone comes down to cladding floors, walls, staircases, pillars, monuments and other elements of architecture.

There are several types of stone and we mostly divide them into granite and marble..

Natural stone with its own pronounced patterns is unique in itself and captivates with the beauty it provides.

GRANITE

Granite is a common and widespread type of acidic intrusive igneous (volcanic) rocks. They are usually medium to coarsely crystalline, and can be pink to dark gray, depending on their chemical and mineral composition. It usually appears in the form of batholiths, which build entire continents. Sometimes we can find it in circular depressions surrounded by a chain of hills formed by a metamorphic halo - hornfels, which is formed at the contact of a hot intruding igneous body and the surrounding rock mass.

Granite is almost always massive, solid and hard, which is why its use as a building (technical) and architectural (decorative) stone is very widespread. The average density of granite is 2.75 g · cm − 3, but varies from 1.74 g · cm − 3 to 2.80 g · cm − 3. The word granite comes from the Latin language, which refers to the coarse-grained structure of this crystalline rock.

Granite can be polished to a high gloss, which is why it is an aesthetically very acceptable material. It is characterized by extremely high wear resistance, strength and durable polish. Due to its specific properties, it is suitable for use in almost all environments, and as such finds its application in family homes as well as in the external environment where it resists mechanical stimuli. It is most often used in the construction of stairs, kitchen surfaces, interior and exterior tiles, tombs, oysters, facades, monuments ... With the advent of acid rain, granite has become more suitable than marble because it is more durable. It is also used for stone blocks and curbs on roads, for monumental pedestals.
